Mark Meaders, our beekeeper, gave a  inspiring presentation about bees. He spoke about our bees and what was going on, the history of beekeeping including Ancient Egyptian Beekeeping, traditional beehives, bee facts, the types of bees and more. He talked about the importance of bees in pollination and that an estimated ⅓ of food is dependent on pollination. He also talked briefly about other pollinators and the  top plants that attract pollinators. We learned about the different types of honey, and what happens to bees in the fall and winter. He explained what was needed if we wanted to become a beekeeper! It was a very informative presentation that gave us more information about the bees we have at our school.
