Transitions Coordinator and SEL teacher, Marti Phillips, is in her 43rd year of teaching and has taught every grade from kindergarten through grade 12. Her favorite part of being the Transition Coordinator, besides working with the students, is bringing in speakers and outside community resources to benefit our Concept School families. Besides her love of teaching, Marti, along with her husband Dave, enjoys engaging in community service. They have led a Parent Support Group every Monday night for the last 10 years. In 2014, they were awarded the Greater Philadelphia Community Service Award from the Caron Treatment Center for giving support to parents, families, and caregivers by providing access to expert resources and guidance to find a healthier path forward. They are being honored this spring by the nonprofit organization Be A Part of the Conversation with the “Conversation Inspiration Award” for inspiring and improving the lives of those impacted by substance use or addiction.
